Blog Analysis

The blog that I chose to analyze is called Breakthrough Basketball by Jeff and can be viewed by going to http://www.breakthroughbasketball.com/blog. It is a basketball coaching blog started by Jeff Haefner and features insight from Joe Haefner, Don Kelbick, and Paul Giacomelli. They are all four basketball coaches and teachers of the game.

They define themselves as teachers of fundamentals and doing the right thing. They also write that they are very passionate and feel that coaches have great opportunites to have a positive impact on their player's lives.

The site appeals to coaches because it offers a lot of advice on techniques to improve your team's performance. It also has several ideas for drills, plays, and how to handle certain situations on the basketball court and during practice. This is very helpful information for coaches and also for young players looking to develop their game and become a better rounded player.

The writers, the four coaches, present the subject matter and content in the form of articles. They write frequently and take questions from the comments section and answer them as well. A lot of information is covered and since they have a lot of experience combined, the analysis and tips are very helpful. They will also give personal accounts of when they tried a certain play or tried practicing a certain way and how that situation turned out for them. Their content is also organized into sections based on what the reader would like to read about or improve.

The blog is attempting to communicate that they are a place where anyone can come to their blog and find helpful information on how to coach and play.
